Black Hat Renegade Headshot

This gentleman may look like Willie Nelson but he's actually a criminal lawyer extraordinaire, a celebrity in Easton and a father of one of my brides.  When Gary needed an updated headshot for his new website, he brought with him a black hat, a white hat and the skills of a consummate actor. Here, the twinkle in his eye shows that when he wears the black hat, his renegade spirit and mischievous side shine through.

A Fairytale Wedding at Aldie Mansion

Anne had the fairytale wedding she'd dreamed of as a girl, complete with castle (Fonthill) and horse-drawn carriage.  While Chris wasn't wearing a suit of shining armor he was, nonetheless, her prince and arranged the carriage ride as a surprise on the day of their wedding.
The day began with a ceremony at Easton's Trinity Episcopal Church. Chris and Anne made a few stops at their favorite shops in town (The Quadrant and The Purple Cow) and then headed down to Bucks county for their reception at Aldie Mansion.

Jumping the broom at Iron Lakes Country Club!

Katie and Andre were married on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon at lovely Iron Lakes Country Club by the Rev. Alice Hessinger.  They decided to incorporate the old tradition of jumping the broom right before they walked down the aisle together.  I'm not sure if it's the person who jumps the highest or the one who hits the ground first who allegedly has the upper hand in the marriage, but they both seemed very pleased at the outcome.

Donations as Thoughtful Wedding Favors

Mackenzie and Ryan's beautiful wedding at Cavallo's in Easton, PA was a dream come true. As a teenager, Mackenzie worked at Cavallo's and hoped that one day she would have her wedding there. To make her dream a reality, she traveled across the country from California and Ryan's family flew in from Wyoming.

Ryan and Mackenzie both serve in the Armed Forces and decided on a very special way to say "Thank You" for sharing the day: they made a donation to The Wounded Warrior Project in lieu of wedding favors. Their donation was made in honor of all their fellow service members who have been physically and emotionally wounded by war.

This year several of my couples have made donations in lieu of wedding favors to non-profit organizations, including Childhood Autism, Out of the Darkness and the ASPCA.  In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, a donation to The American Red Cross might well be added to the list.

Baby Harrison's Photo Session

It had been twelve years since Lauren had been in my studio for a family photo session with her brothers and sisters. When her latest baby arrived, Lauren quickly scheduled her session before the end of that critical 10-day period when newborn baby photo sessions are at their best. Sweet Girlz Bakery in Downtown Easton!

When two of my former brides decided to open Sweet Girlz Bakery shop in historic Downtown Easton I just had to pay them a visit and so should you.  I think their chocolate krinkle cookies are incredible but this adorable redhead preferred their cupcakes.

You've been asked to be a bridesmaid! What's next?

If you're a first time bridesmaid, you'll want to check out this helpful list of tasks from The Knot:

• Offer to help with prewedding tasks. Try to be specific when you volunteer. For example, say, "Would you like me to help you shop for bridesmaid dresses/stuff invitations/pack for the honeymoon?" instead of just, "What can I do?"
• Scout out bridesmaid dresses, shoes, jewelry, and other wedding accessories. Pay for the entire ensemble. (Break in your shoes before the wedding day -- that will minimize slipping, blisters, and aching tootsies.)
• Help to plan, cohost, and pay for the bridal shower and bachelorette party with other bridesmaids.
• If the maid/matron of honor isn't already handling this task, keep a record of all the gifts received at various parties and bridal showers (so that the bride/couple can write thank-you notes); maintain RSVP lists.
• Attend the ceremony rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. (Keep abreast of all prewedding parties, and go to as many as possible.)
• Run last-minute errands. On the day of the wedding, be on hand to confirm flower delivery times, meet and greet the ceremony officiant, or satisfy junk food cravings.
• Stand in the receiving line at the bride's request.
• Serve as auxiliary hostess at the reception by introducing guests, making sure they know where the bar is located, and inviting them to sign the guest book.
• Hit the dance floor when the music kicks in. Dance with groomsmen during the formal first-dance sequence. Also, be on the lookout for toe-tapping guests who might need encouragement and/or a dance partner.
• Give the matron/maid of honor a break by helping to carry the bride's wedding gown train whenever necessary. Bustle the train before dancing begins, and be ready to help fix it if it comes unhooked. Accompany the bride on visits to the restroom, if asked.
• Purchase a wedding present perhaps with one or several of the other bridesmaids. This provides more buying power, and two heads are better than one when it comes to wedding gift ideas. Sometimes the entire bridesmaid troupe pitches in for one knock-her-socks-off wedding gift.
• Be a trooper, no matter how stressful the ordeal becomes. Try not to complain about the bridesmaid dress -- even if the color is horrendous. Be gracious and tactful.
• Provide plenty of emotional support during the planning and on the wedding day.

Fun-filled Wedding at Brookside in Pottstown, Pennsylvania

This adorable couple did some long-distance courting after they graduated from high school. Nicole went to college in North Carolina to pursue a teaching degree from Elon University and Greg would travel back and forth from Pennsylvania to visit while he worked on completing his degree in accounting. Their courtship continued for years until their July 14th wedding.
